Elisha Smith-Leverock is an award-winning director known for capturing authentic moments and crafting nuanced stories that have garnered industry-wide recognition. With a background in photography, Elisha developed a keen eye for lighting and composition, which informs their distinct cinematic style. Their films blend art, photography, and other media into emotionally resonant narratives that explore identity and intimacy in a surreal yet powerful way.This unique approach has attracted major commercial clients such as Louboutin, The Coca-Cola Company, eBay, and Dove. Elisha’s work has been screened at prestigious festivals and has earned multiple awards.

Elisha’s recent projects include the ARD series Schwarze Früchte, which had its world premiere at Tribeca and has since been featured at Filmfest Hamburg and BFI Flare. Their acclaimed NOWNESS short Triple Beam Dream—which ignited conversations on race, culture, and inclusion in the luxury goods industry—was nominated for a Webby Award. Additionally, their fashion film Rejoice Resist, a celebration of Black joy and pleasure as a form of resistance, launched the London activation of IN THE BLK, a global collective of Black creatives in fashion. The film won a 2022 Bronze Clio Award and Best Fashion Film at the Aesthetica Film Festival.

Elisha’s documentary Miss Black Germany has been widely recognized, earning accolades at festivals like BlackStar and winning Best Documentary twice, further cementing their reputation for socially impactful storytelling.

Beyond filmmaking, Elisha has long been an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the industry. They were an ambassador for Free The Work, an influential initiative championing underrepresented creators, and are a founding member of DRCT, continuing to push for meaningful change in advertising and beyond.
